Thank you Elise, Renai and Aaron for the great show ideas generated last weekend. While we are voting I wanted to throw out an idea that came up in the meeting that I wanted us to reconsider. What if for this first show we create work inspired by the winning idea but work within a size restraint. I think this could be a great tool to help unify the work. It could be 12x12 or 15x15 or a rectangle? Take a look at how diverse and great the work looked in the Mesa Contemporary Arts Benefit and think it over. - Brooke
I'm really excited about the exhibition ideas that Elise, Aaron, and Renai came up with last week. Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Brooke's post, I think with the variety of everyone's work in this club the size restraint will be a really interesting way to fill the gallery space.
Whitney (I still haven't figured out how to get my name on here..or maybe it will be hah).
So, while I was looking around trying to get the site to allow me to post as myself (I'm logged in as myself and I have a personal blog here..I don't get it ha)...I discovered that the site will allow you to create polls for your members. This may be useful in future decisions so someone doesn't have to manually tally votes. Just a note.

ooh, that's a good idea about the polls, whitney. and brooke, yes, I definitely support the size constraint idea. maybe I'll try and figure out how to make a poll and see what people think about that!
ReplyDeleteYou can set it up by adding a poll "gadget" by going to "settings", and then "layout", and then "add a gadget".
ReplyDeleteAlso Elise, I was out of town when I got your flier email and haven't gone back to respond...I think it's a really good idea to get some more diversity and ideas in the group and that it looks great!
Annnd I finally figured out how to switch to my name instead of posting as "fibers club" so the world is good again.
I'll probably be seeing you all tomorrow at Nick Cave!
